Mouse attack!

April 19, 2017 By Admin Leave a Comment

What does one do when finding, the night before a weaving demo for many groups of school children, that a pesky mouse has dined on the linen warp of the historic barn loom?

One realizes Life Happens, and proceeds to make do, as is appropriate to the interpretation of life for the Harmonists during the 18th century.

Improvised warping board, cotton and flax thread, voila! A new warp ready to wind on the loom and be threaded through the heddles and reed and then tied on.

Before 9 tomorrow morning. In a cabin with no lights as dusk is falling. Where would we be without challenges, I ask you.

April and Freckles are here baaaaing in sympathy. One appreciates the kindness of old friends at a time like this. Now ready for a great time tomorrow as we kick off the 2017 Heritage Artisan Days at New Harmony. Come join us!
